Curious about Crypto? Good.

Cautious about Crypto? Even better.

Plain-English crypto education for the over-50s.
No hype, no jargon, and nobody shouting at you to buy anything.

You've seen the headlines. New laws in Washington. Big banks getting involved.
Your pension provider suddenly mentioning “digital assets” with a straight face.
And somewhere in the back of your mind, a quiet question: should I actually understand this — or is it all a scam?

Honest answer: it's a bit of both. There's real technology here, and there are also
real crooks circling people exactly like you. This site exists to help you tell the difference — in plain English, at your own pace, with no pressure to do anything
at all.  Our goal is to help you navigate the fact from the fiction, while staying safe.

A crypto site that tells you to slow down

Most crypto websites focus on hype. Excited people click “buy” without reading the small print.

I'd rather you were informed. Informed people ask awkward questions, spot the red flags, and make decisions they don't regret at 3am.

So here's the deal. Everything on this site is free to read. Every confusing term gets translated into plain English the first time it appears. And nothing here will ever tell you which coin to buy, when to buy it, or promise you a return of any kind.

If that sounds refreshingly boring — welcome. You're in the right place.

The New Rules
Andrew Lock, founder of Crypto After 50

Why listen to me?
Because I've been burned too.

I'm Andrew. I've spent 25 years in marketing and media — writing, producing, presenting, and translating complicated things into plain English for a living.

I've also lost money in crypto.

A few years ago, a project I believed in collapsed when its founder ran into serious legal trouble. I felt foolish. I'd done my research. I'd been careful. And I still got caught out.

That experience is exactly why this site exists. Not because I think crypto is evil — but because I learned the hard way that enthusiasm without understanding is expensive. Everything I share here comes from that lesson.

I won't pretend to be a guru. I'll just tell you the truth, in plain English, and let you make up your own mind.

Nothing on this website is financial advice. I'm an educator, not a financial adviser. Cryptocurrency is volatile and you can lose money — never invest more than you can comfortably afford to lose, and consider speaking to a regulated financial adviser before making any investment decision.
